Position Summary:

TÜV Rheinland UK is seeking experienced NDT Engineers with specific pressure systems knowledge to join its expanding Asset Integrity Management team in Derby. The successful candidates will play a key role in delivering inspection and integrity solutions, primarily within the Conventional Power and Clean Energy sectors (CCGT, Biomass, and Energy from Waste plants). The role involves site inspections, reporting, project coordination, and travel within the UK and abroad.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site visits to carry out plant inspections.
  • Coordinate and supervise inspection activities, particularly during outages (depending on qualifications and experience).
  • Produce high-quality inspection reports.
  • Review and authorize inspection reports (subject to qualifications and experience).
  • Estimate and manage project costs.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of standards, legislation, industry practices, and inspection methods.
  • Utilize appropriate equipment and software for inspections.

Required Qualifications:

  • PCN Level 2D certification in:
    • Magnetic particle testing
    • Penetrant testing
    • Ultrasonic testing of welds
  • Additional advantageous qualifications:
    • PCN Level 2 certification in phased array ultrasonic testing and/or TOFD.
    • PCN Level 3 certification in any testing method.
    • NEBOSH General Certificate.
    • Project management experience.

Experience:

  • Essential:
    • Practical experience inspecting a range of plant components, especially steam and water pressure parts in both new/as-installed and in-service conditions.
    • Understanding of damage and degradation mechanisms affecting inspected components.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience in ultrasonic testing of branch connections.
    • Experience in outage inspections, including coordinating/supervising activities and liaising with clients and stakeholders.
