Position Summary:
The NDT Assistant/Trainee roles support non-destructive testing operations by performing inspections, assisting with project execution, and ensuring compliance with applicable procedures, codes, and standards. While Level II Technicians independently conduct examinations and guide trainees, Assistants/Trainees support inspection activities, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to efficient project execution in industrial environments.
Responsibilities:
- Perform tasks to prepare components or equipment for inspection.
- Assist certified technicians in completing inspection projects and learning NDT activities.
- Coordinate with personnel to determine work scope and priorities.
- Clean and organize equipment before, during, and after projects.
- Document on-the-job training experience as assigned.
- Perform additional job-related tasks as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Basic math and print reading skills.
- Ability to use computers for data entry and report writing.
- Prior NDT classroom training or on-the-job training preferred.
Requirements:
- Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must pass a drug screening.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must meet U.S. export control requirements (U.S. Person status under ITAR regulations).
- Ability to work in industrial environments, including:
- Working at heights (scaffolding, ladders, platforms, man-baskets).
- Working in confined spaces (crawling, climbing, stooping).
- Exposure to operating equipment, radiation, and hazardous materials.
- Ability to work extended shifts (up to 12 hours/day, 7 days/week) and travel for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
