NDT Assistants/Trainees

Position Summary:

The NDT Assistant/Trainee roles support non-destructive testing operations by performing inspections, assisting with project execution, and ensuring compliance with applicable procedures, codes, and standards. While Level II Technicians independently conduct examinations and guide trainees, Assistants/Trainees support inspection activities, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to efficient project execution in industrial environments.

Responsibilities:

• Perform tasks to prepare components or equipment for inspection.
• Assist certified technicians in completing inspection projects and learning NDT activities.
• Coordinate with personnel to determine work scope and priorities.
• Clean and organize equipment before, during, and after projects.
• Document on-the-job training experience as assigned.
• Perform additional job-related tasks as directed by supervisors.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Basic math and print reading skills.
• Ability to use computers for data entry and report writing.
• Prior NDT classroom training or on-the-job training preferred.

Requirements:

• Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must pass a drug screening.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must meet U.S. export control requirements (U.S. Person status under ITAR regulations).
• Ability to work in industrial environments, including:
• Working at heights (scaffolding, ladders, platforms, man-baskets).
• Working in confined spaces (crawling, climbing, stooping).
• Exposure to operating equipment, radiation, and hazardous materials.
• Ability to work extended shifts (up to 12 hours/day, 7 days/week) and travel for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
