Position Summary:
TEAM, Inc. is seeking an entry-level NDT Assistant to support certified NDT technicians in delivering nondestructive testing services at various client sites and locations. The position provides an opportunity to begin a career in asset integrity and inspection while supporting the safety, efficiency, and quality of TEAM’s inspection and testing operations.
The NDT Assistant will support inspections involving methods such as ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic testing (MT), penetrant testing (PT), and radiographic testing (RT), as applicable. The role involves working across various industrial environments, including oil and gas, nuclear, power, municipal, aerospace, and other settings.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting certified NDT technicians with setting up and performing inspections using UT, MT, PT, RT, and other applicable NDT methods in accordance with TEAM and client procedures.
- Preparing and organizing materials, tools, and equipment required for testing assignments.
- Supporting radiation safety practices and helping secure work areas for radiographic testing, where applicable.
- Transporting equipment to and from job sites while maintaining safe handling and inventory control.
- Cleaning and maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Completing field reports, timesheets, and other required documentation as directed.
- Following all applicable safety rules, client site protocols, and TEAM’s Life Critical Expectations.
- Performing general labor duties related to rigging, lifting, and access equipment setup.
- Supporting inspection and testing operations at client sites and TEAM field locations.
- Working with crew employees, supervisors, and client personnel as required.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in NDT, construction, or industrial environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with basic NDT methods and terminology is preferred.
- Current TWIC, OSHA 10/30, or other industry-standard safety certifications are preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools and equipment are preferred.
- A strong work ethic and safety-first mindset.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle driving record.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background check.
- Ability to obtain TWIC, DISA, and/or other required site access credentials.
- Willingness to travel and work in various environments typically found in oil and gas, nuclear, power, municipal, aerospace, and other industrial settings.
- Willingness and ability to work extended shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules as required.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and under various environmental conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Sufficient personal mobility to maneuver in standard refinery and plant environments, including accessing elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells, except when performing non-field duties.
- Ability to communicate effectively through sufficient speech, hearing, or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform required investigations and inspections.
- Sufficient manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform routine duties.
- Ability to maintain focus, multitask, and communicate effectively.
- Ability to wear required safety equipment for assigned tasks.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in plant environments and around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
- Ability to tolerate changes in climate and working conditions.
- Willingness to work at more than one job site in a day when required.
- Willingness to travel out of town periodically.
