Position Summary:-

TEAM, Inc. is seeking an entry-level NDT Assistant to support certified technicians in delivering nondestructive testing services at various client sites and locations. The position provides an opportunity to begin a career in asset integrity and inspection while contributing to the safety, support, and operational excellence of TEAM’s inspection and testing operations.

The NDT Assistant will work alongside certified NDT technicians and assist with inspection activities involving methods such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT), and Radiographic Testing (RT), in accordance with TEAM and client procedures.

Responsibilities:-

  • Assist certified NDT technicians with setting up and performing inspections using UT, MT, PT, RT, and other applicable NDT methods.
  • Prepare and organize materials, tools, and equipment required for testing assignments.
  • Support radiation safety practices and assist in securing work areas for radiographic testing, where applicable.
  • Transport equipment to and from job sites while maintaining safe handling practices and inventory control.
  • Clean and maintain tools and work areas.
  • Complete field reports, timesheets, and other documentation as directed.
  • Follow all safety requirements, client site protocols, and TEAM’s Life Critical Expectations.
  • Perform general labor duties associated with rigging, lifting, and access equipment setup.
  • Work with other crew employees, supervisors, and client personnel as required.
  • Support inspection and testing operations in plant, shop, and client-site environments.

Qualifications:-

  • Previous experience in NDT, construction, or industrial environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with basic NDT methods and terminology is preferred.
  • Current TWIC, OSHA 10/30, or other industry-standard safety certifications is preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools and equipment are preferred.

Requirements:-

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle driving record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and background check.
  • Ability to obtain TWIC, DISA, and/or other required site access credentials.
  • Willingness to travel and work in environments typically found in Oil and Gas, Nuclear, Power, Municipality, Aerospace, and other industrial settings.
  • Willingness and ability to work extended shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules as required.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various environmental conditions.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to maneuver through standard refinery or plant environments, including accessing elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells when performing field duties.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through sufficient speech, hearing, or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to perform investigations through sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to perform routine office duties.
  • Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes to perform office duties and travel to off-site locations when necessary.
  • Ability to maintain focus and multitask with effective communication skills.
  • Ability to wear required safety equipment for assigned tasks and as required by the safety department.

Work Conditions:-

The NDT Assistant position is based out of a TEAM field office or client site location. Field duties may involve both indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere.

The position may involve:-

  • Working around production machinery and extreme noise levels.
  • Interaction with crew employees, supervisors, and client personnel.
  • Working at more than one job site in a day.
  • Exposure to changing climate conditions.
  • Periodic out-of-town travel.
  • Working at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Working in various environmental conditions.
  • Performing duties in plant and/or shop areas.
  • Wearing safety equipment as required for personal protection and assigned tasks.
  • Working extended shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules as required.
