Position Summary:
The Apprentice Nondestructive Testing Technician assists certified Technicians or Senior Technicians in performing inspections using various NDT techniques to identify corrosion, defects, or other detrimental conditions in accordance with written criteria. Responsibilities may include calibrating instruments and supporting other tasks under direct supervision while working toward NDT certifications.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following company, customer, and legal safety standards.
- Support Technicians or Senior Technicians during NDT inspections.
- Participate in hands-on training while studying toward NDT certifications in various methods.
- Perform duties as assigned by supervising technicians on-site.
- Adhere to TEAM’s Core Values and operational guidelines.
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic math skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and basic computer usage.
- Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English.
- Willingness to travel up to 75%.
- Ability to handle chemicals safely.
- Capability to follow detailed instructions.
Work Conditions:
- Based at a branch or site location.
- Indoor and outdoor work in plant environments.
- Frequent interaction with crew members, supervisors, and clients.
- Exposure to production machinery with high noise levels.
- Must be able to wear required safety equipment.
- Possible multiple job sites in a single day and varied climate conditions.
- Periodic out-of-town travel may be required.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to walk, climb, and access elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
