Position Summary

TEAM Inc. is currently seeking an NDT Assistant / Apprentice to support certified technicians in performing nondestructive testing (NDT) inspections. This entry-level position is designed for individuals who are eager to learn NDT techniques through hands-on experience in the field while working under the guidance of senior personnel. Ideal for candidates interested in launching a long-term career in industrial inspection and asset integrity management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist certified NDT Technicians and Sr. Technicians during inspections
  • Prepare, calibrate, and handle testing equipment under supervision
  • Follow written procedures and verbal instructions to ensure compliance and safety
  • Observe and learn various NDT techniques and industry best practices
  • Record test results and assist with reporting under technician guidance
  • Maintain a safe and compliant work environment according to TEAM and client standards
  • Travel to job sites as required (up to 75%)
  • Perform general labor duties and carry inspection equipment as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Strong understanding of basic math
  • Computer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Word
  • Ability to follow instructions precisely and work in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Must be able to handle industrial chemicals safely
  • Willingness to travel and work varied hours, including occasional weekends

Work Environment

  • Work is performed at various field or plant sites—both indoor and outdoor environments
  • Exposure to high noise levels and heavy industrial equipment
  • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
  • Work may involve multiple job sites per day and varying weather conditions
  • Interaction with crew members, supervisors, and client personnel is routine

Physical & Mental Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
  • Frequent walking, climbing ladders/stairs, and working at heights
  • Manual dexterity and good vision (with or without accommodations) for equipment handling and inspections
  • Ability to maintain concentration and multitask in high-demand environments
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces or elevated areas when needed
  • Capable of sustained physical effort and alertness in a fast-paced work environment
