Position Summary:
Gecko Robotics is seeking an experienced NDT Advanced Specialist to perform industrial inspections using Gecko’s innovative robotic technologies. The specialist will operate in a variety of industries such as power plants, oil & gas refineries, paper mills, and other industrial environments across North America. The role is critical to ensuring high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction. While fieldwork will be the primary responsibility, the specialist will also be involved in robot maintenance, procedure development, and training of newer technicians when not in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety policies in both field and shop environments, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
- Oversee and operate robotic inspection equipment to ensure data integrity in industrial environments.
- Communicate effectively with customers, ensuring their satisfaction and gathering feedback to improve services.
- Complete administrative tasks, including expense reports, timesheets, and field documentation.
- Participate in training processes for NDT professionals and assist in maintaining the functionality of robotic equipment.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the company’s service offerings and technical tools.
- Ensure compliance with customer-required background checks and drug screening requirements.
Qualifications:
- Must have NDT Level II certifications in UT, PT, MT, VT, etc.
- Level II UTPA certification is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in downstream industries.
- Strong documentation and reporting experience.
- Experience with Automated Ultrasonic Testing (AUT).
- RBI experience is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in a lead technician role is preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 75%, and up to 90% during peak times.
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the job, including working in confined spaces and at heights.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid TWIC card.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Strong understanding of NDT techniques and applications.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively in team settings and represent the company with enthusiasm.
- Proficient in field-related administrative tasks and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work in diverse environments, including machine shops and outdoor industrial sites.
