Metallographic/ NDT Technican (FHX)

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Head of Projects and Technical Support, the Metallographic/NDT Technician (FHX) will perform on-site metallurgical and non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections and expert assessments at industrial facilities, ensuring the quality and integrity of materials used in critical applications, particularly in the industrial and aerospace sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform on-site metallographic examinations, including:

• Replica sampling
• Hardness testing
• Chemical analysis using LIBS spectrometry

Conduct micrographic examinations:

• Sample preparation
• Laboratory analysis of collected data

Perform damage assessments:

• Analyze metallurgical degradation mechanisms
• Prepare compliance and assessment reports per client specifications

Execute NDT services:

• Penetrant testing (PT)
• Magnetic particle testing (MT)
• Ultrasonic testing (UT)

Contribute to the continuous improvement of procedures and methods related to metallurgical expertise and NDT.

Qualifications:

• Minimum two-year post-secondary degree in metallography or a related discipline.
• Ideally, at least two years of professional experience in metallography or NDT.
• COFREND Level 2 certifications in PT, MT, and/or UT are a strong plus (NDT training can be provided if needed).
• Driver’s license (category B) required.
• Willingness to travel frequently within the region and occasionally nationally or internationally.

• Fixed salary: €30,000–€40,000 (depending on profile and experience)
