Position Summary:

The Mechanical Test Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing mechanical test programs with a high level of quality and efficiency. The role requires independent work, strong technical capability, effective communication with customers and partners, and the ability to manage multiple testing activities and internal procedures. The engineer will also support design activities, develop lab operating procedures, and prepare engineering estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute mechanical test programs to meet scheduled requirements and quality standards.
  • Perform testing activities including vibration, acceleration, temperature, humidity, altitude, hydraulic, pneumatic, corrosion, rain, wind, ice, solar radiation, fungus resistance, and ingress protection.
  • Communicate with customers to plan tests, troubleshoot issues, and address technical needs.
  • Coordinate testing activities with external partners and internal departments.
  • Use CAD software to design and build vibration fixtures and test setups.
  • Develop and update internal laboratory operating procedures.
  • Prepare engineering estimates for test program quotations and departmental budget support.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years of engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience interpreting drawings, schematics, standards, and familiarity with machining, welding, fabrication, HVAC, electricity, and electronics is considered a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and 3D modeling software; experience with Fusion 360 is preferred.
  • Comfortable working with both tools and computers.
  • Ability to lift and handle equipment up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods during testing activities.
  • Must be authorized for full-time employment in the United States; citizenship must permit compliance with ITAR requirements.
