Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in an exciting project, applying your mechanical fitting expertise to contribute to its success.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Work within the framework of NDT South Wales Ltd, supporting Non-Destructive Testing and inspection activities.
  • Apply mechanical fitting skills to enhance the reliability and functionality of NDT equipment.
  • Uphold the highest standards of safety in all mechanical fitting activities.
  • Contribute to the integrity of infrastructure in the UK through the safe and cost-effective application of mechanical fitting services.
  • Demonstrate awareness of modern scientific and engineering problems as applied in the Non-Destructive Testing field.
  • Contribute to the creation of leading-edge, cost-effective technologies in the mechanical fitting domain.
  • Engage in a variety of testing methods, including Visual Testing (VT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Eddy Current Testing (ECT), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), Radiography (RT), Phased Array UT (PAUT), Corrosion Mapping, IRIS Inspection, Positive Material Identification (PMI), Hardness Testing, and Pulsed Eddy Current (PEC) Inspection.

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a skilled and motivated Mechanical Fitter.
  • Familiarity with a range of mechanical fitting techniques and methodologies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment to achieve project goals.
  • Strong commitment to safety standards and protocols.
  • Alignment with the vision of NDT South Wales Ltd, including the optimal selection of new and emerging technologies to support infrastructure integrity.

Location:

Willingness to work at Stiwdio, University of South Wales, Cardiff.
