Mechanical Engineer II

Position Summary

T.D. Williamson is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II responsible for applying mechanical engineering principles to design, develop, customize, implement, test, and sustain TDW products and service solutions. This individual contributor role involves working independently and as part of a team, collaborating with other mechanical engineers and engineering specialists to deliver complete systems or products for customer applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Applies engineering principles to design components, products, tests, and systems
• Documents design activities including calculations, tolerance analysis, concept development, 3D CAD models, and engineering drawings
• Assists in creating product documentation such as build and maintenance manuals
• Completes engineering change requests for documentation and design improvements
• Estimates time requirements for application development and supports prototype assembly and validation
• Assists in test planning, execution, and reporting of test results
• Reports to an engineering manager and works under the guidance of senior engineers

Experience

• Engineering-specific work experience required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proficient in 3D modeling, tolerance analysis, GD&T, FEA, and DFMEA
• Competence in FEA software (simulation and ANSYS preferred) and solid modeling tools (e.g. Siemens NX, SolidWorks)
• Strong problem-solving abilities and understanding of manufacturing and machine design principles
• Familiarity with continuous improvement methods (DFM/A, Lean, Six Sigma)
• Experience with PLM systems and software (e.g. TeamCenter, MasterControl) and engineering change processes
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
