Position Summary:
The Level II NDE Technician will perform non-destructive testing (NDT) in field and/or shop environments using various inspection methods such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Radiography (RT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Dye Penetrant Testing (PT). The role requires NAS410 certification and involves conducting inspections, interpreting results, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. The position is available as full-time and temporary, based in Heath, Ohio, with relocation assistance offered.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and calibrate NDT equipment
- Conduct inspections using appropriate NDT techniques (UT, RT, MT, PT)
- Interpret, evaluate, and document inspection results
- Demonstrate thorough understanding of the scope and limitations of certified methods
- Direct and support Level I technicians and trainees
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and contractual requirements
- Work with minimal supervision in both field and shop environments
- Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Collect, analyze, and present numerical and inspection data effectively
Qualifications:
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- NAS410 certification
- Completion of a specialized NDT technical program meeting SNT-TC-1A requirements for UT, RT, MT, or PT
- Prior certification as Level II with at least one (1) year of experience, or Level I certification with sufficient field experience to qualify for Level II per SNT-TC-1A
Preferred
- Industrial Radiographer Certification Card (required for Radiographer roles)
- Completion of a 40-hour Radiation Safety Course (required for Radiographer roles)
Requirements:
- Ability to perform both field and shop-based NDT work
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to interpret codes, standards, and technical documentation
