Position Summary

The Level II RT Technician independently performs radiographic inspections to identify corrosion, defects, and other discontinuities in accordance with approved procedures and written criteria. The role is responsible for conducting RT examinations, interpreting indications, preparing accurate inspection reports, and maintaining required certifications. The technician supports senior personnel, guides apprentice-level staff, and communicates inspection processes and results to customers. This position plays a key role in ensuring safety, quality, and technical reliability across field and plant-based inspection activities.

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain a safe working environment by following company, client, and regulatory safety standards
  • Adhere to TEAM’s Core Values and Seven Critical Choices
  • Assist Senior Technicians and help train apprentice-level personnel
  • Continue developing technical knowledge while gaining hands-on experience in various NDT methods
  • Perform duties assigned by the Senior Technician
  • Supervise apprentice-level personnel when required
  • Maintain active NDT certifications
  • Perform NDT inspections within certification scope
  • Interpret and report inspection results and maintain accurate documentation

Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic math competency
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word and computer-based tools
  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate effectively in English
  • Minimum 2 years of NDT experience as a certified technician in at least two methods
  • Previous Level II certification in at least one method (PT, MT, UT, RT, ET) preferred
  • Willingness to travel (0–75%)
  • Ability to safely handle chemicals
  • Strong ability to follow instructions

Work Conditions:

  • Position based at a branch or field site
  • Indoor and outdoor work in plant environments
  • Frequent interaction with crew members, supervisors, and client personnel
  • Exposure to loud industrial environments and production machinery
  • Must be able to wear required PPE
  • May work across multiple job sites in one day with varying climates
  • Occasional out-of-town travel may be required

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs
  • Ability to walk, climb, and access elevated work areas
  • Clear communication (speech/hearing) and visual observation capabilities
  • Sufficient manual dexterity for both office and field tasks
  • Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively
  • Adequate mobility to navigate refinery or plant environments
