Position Summary:
The Level II Radiographer is responsible for performing radiographic and other non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and procedures. The role involves equipment setup, test execution, result interpretation, and documentation while ensuring safety and quality. The technician is expected to work with minimal supervision and may guide Level I personnel and trainees in field operations.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and calibrate NDT equipment
- Conduct inspections using appropriate NDT methods (RT, UT, MT, PT)
- Interpret, evaluate, and document inspection results
- Direct and support Level I personnel and trainees
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and contractual requirements
- Identify and resolve inspection-related problems efficiently
- Analyze and present data effectively
- Work independently with minimal supervision
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a specialized NDT technical program meeting SNT-TC-1A requirements
- Prior Level II certification or Level I certification with sufficient experience to qualify as Level II
- Industrial Radiographer Certification Card (preferred; required upon hiring as Radiographer)
- Completion of a 40-hour Radiation Safety Course (preferred; required upon hiring as Radiographer)
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt to changing work environments and demands
Requirements:
- Tube experience is mandatory (experience with Blue Origin equipment preferred)
- Ability to provide proof of training, certifications, and OJT hours
- Ability to work 60–70 hours per week
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently
- Ability to work in outdoor, industrial, and high-noise environments
- Willingness to travel and work at multiple job sites
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Capability to work at heights and access elevated platforms
- Strong adherence to safety procedures
