Position Overview

MISTRAS Group is seeking Level II Radiographic Testing (RT) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) technicians for full-time roles in Burr Ridge, IL. We are also seeking technicians certified in Computed Radiography (CR) and Digital Radiography (DR). Candidates must meet certification and documentation standards per SNT-TC-1A guidelines and be capable of working independently in field environments.

Required Documentation

  • Applicants must be able to provide the following:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or degree
  • Proof of formal NDT classroom training hours
  • Previous Level II certifications and on-the-job training (OJT) documentation

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and calibrate NDT equipment
  • Conduct tests using appropriate NDT methods (RT, UT, MT, PT)
  • Interpret, evaluate, and document results in accordance with applicable codes and standards
  • Direct and mentor trainees and Level I technicians
  • Understand and follow all applicable standards, codes, and contractual requirements
  • Communicate effectively and present numerical data accurately
  • Identify problems, analyze information, and implement solutions independently
  • Manage work priorities and respond effectively to changing schedules or field conditions

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of specialized NDT program(s) in accordance with SNT-TC-1A for at least one of the following methods: RT, UT, MT, PT
  • Prior NDE Level II certification and at least 1 year of experience OR NDE Level I with field experience qualifying for Level II
  • Preferred: Industrial Radiographer Certification Card (Required for radiography roles)
  • Preferred: 40-hour Radiation Safety Course completion

Working Conditions

  • Outdoor and indoor field environments
  • Regular interaction with coworkers, supervisors, and clients

  • Must be physically able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory
  • Must be adaptable to climate changes and multiple job sites per day
  • Occasional out-of-town travel may be required

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently
  • Effective verbal and hearing communication (with or without accommodation)
  • Adequate vision for inspection tasks (with or without accommodation)
  • Manual dexterity to perform technical and office tasks
  • Ability to maneuver safely within industrial environments, including climbing ladders and working at heights
