Position Summary:
TEAM, Inc. is seeking a Level II NDT Technician to independently perform inspections using various nondestructive testing (NDT) techniques to detect corrosion, defects, or other detrimental conditions in accordance with established criteria. The technician will interpret results, document findings, and communicate processes, procedures, and outcomes to customers. This position requires strong technical knowledge, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to supervise or mentor less experienced personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections utilizing multiple NDT methods and interpret results in line with written procedures and standards.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of inspection activities.
- Ensure a safe work environment by following company, customer, and legal safety practices.
- Assist Senior Technicians and provide guidance to apprentice-level personnel.
- Maintain required NDT certifications and continue training in additional methods as needed.
- Operate computerized equipment and prepare reports using Microsoft Word and related tools.
- Represent TEAM’s values in all work, ensuring professionalism and quality.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the NDT field as a certified technician in at least two methods.
- Prior certification to Level II in at least one method (PT, MT, UT, RT, ET) preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Word.
- Basic understanding of mathematics.
- Ability to handle chemicals safely and follow precise instructions.
- Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
Work Conditions:
- Position may be based at a branch office or customer site.
- Requires indoor and outdoor work in plant or shop environments.
- Regular exposure to high noise levels and production machinery.
- Must be able to wear safety equipment as required.
- May be required to visit multiple job sites per day and tolerate climate variations.
- Occasional out-of-town travel required.
Physical & Mental Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to walk, climb ladders, and access elevated platforms.
- Clear speech, hearing, and vision to perform inspections and communicate effectively.
- Strong manual dexterity and mobility to work in varied environments.
- Ability to focus, multitask, and maintain excellent communication under pressure.
