Position Summary

The Level II Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Technician will independently perform inspections using various NDT methods to detect corrosion, defects, and detrimental conditions, according to written procedures. You will evaluate and report findings, ensure compliance with company and client standards, and communicate results clearly with customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct NDT inspections using qualified methods (RT, UT, MT, PT, ET)
  • Interpret and evaluate indications against relevant standards and procedures
  • Maintain safety and environmental compliance per TEAM and client protocols
  • Prepare and maintain inspection reports and related documentation
  • Supervise apprentice-level technicians as needed
  • Train and mentor less experienced team members in NDT methods
  • Support Sr. Technicians on complex inspections
  • Maintain current NDT certifications and seek additional qualifications

Qualifications & Requirements

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in NDT, certified in at least 2 methods
  • Prior Level II certification in PT, MT, UT, RT, or ET
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and general computer literacy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of basic math
  • Ability to handle chemicals and follow safety instructions
  • English fluency for reading, writing, and speaking

Preferred:

  • Previous multi-method NDT certifications
  • Supervisory or team-lead experience on site
  • Work Environment & Conditions
  • Work performed at branch and client site locations
  • Both indoor and outdoor field environments, often in loud industrial areas
  • Must tolerate climate variations and changing job sites
  • Interaction with other crew members, site supervisors, and clients
  • May need to wear PPE (personal protective equipment) including respirators, gloves, safety glasses, etc.
  • Required travel as per job site demands

Physical & Mental Requirements

  • Able to lift and carry 75 lbs regularly
  • Ability to walk, climb, and access elevated work areas
  • Must possess manual dexterity, visual acuity, and mobility
  • Capable of multitasking and maintaining focus in dynamic environments
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
