Job Description:
We are seeking a Level II Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Technician who will be responsible for performing calibrations, tests, and evaluations to determine the acceptance or rejection of materials according to established protocols. The ideal candidate will be able to set up and calibrate equipment, interpret and evaluate test results concerning applicable codes and standards, and provide on-the-job training and guidance to Level I Technicians and Assistants.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and calibrate NDT equipment to ensure accurate test results.
- Conduct tests to ensure product quality or detect defects using established NDT methods.
- Establish proper examination techniques, ensuring adherence to safety regulations.
- Apply testing criteria by applicable specifications and evaluate results.
- Interpret data from radiographs, CRT or digital readouts, conductivity meters, and other visual indicators.
- Organize and report test results clearly and concisely.
- Perform specialized inspections as needed.
- Instruct and supervise others as needed.
- Interface with clients daily to discuss work priorities and project progress.
- Actively participate in client programs, planning sessions, and safety initiatives.
- Collaborate with clients to identify and remove obstacles to project success.
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Level II NDT certification or equivalent.
- Familiarity with a range of NDT methods and techniques.
- Experience interpreting codes and standards, including ASME, ASTM, and API.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with clients and team members.
- Commitment to safety and quality.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
