Position Summary
The Inspection Engineer (CAT 2) is responsible for delivering in-service inspection activities for pressure equipment across the Humberside region. The role focuses on ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of engineering assets through preparation and review of Written Schemes of Examination, coordination of inspection activities, execution of basic NDT techniques, and clear technical reporting in line with regulatory and company requirements.
The Role
- Preparation and review of Written Schemes of Examination (WSE)
- Identification of preparation requirements for WSE and examinations in accordance with the WSE
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake simple NDT activities including ultrasonic thickness checks, magnetic particle inspection, and dye penetrant testing
- Coordinate NDT providers for extensive inspection requirements or specialist inspection methods
- Prepare clear and detailed inspection reports, including photographic evidence
- Assess deterioration of equipment
- Review design calculations and sentence defects
Qualifications and Experience
- HNC or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Hold a UKAS RG21 CAT 2 Certificate
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience, including at least 1 year within an engineering discipline involving in-service inspection of pressure systems
- Incorporated Engineer status is desirable
