Position Summary:
The Inspection Engineer (CAT 2 – Pressure Equipment) will be responsible for preparing and reviewing Written Schemes of Examination (WSE), identifying preparation requirements, and conducting examinations in accordance with the WSE. The role will include carrying out simple NDT inspections, coordinating with specialist NDT providers, assessing deterioration, and reporting findings with clarity and accuracy.
Essential Job Functions:
- Undertakes simple NDT inspections, including ultrasonic thickness checks, magnetic particle, and dye penetrant testing.
- Coordinates external NDT providers for extensive requirements or specialist methods.
- Prepares detailed inspection reports, including photographic documentation.
- Assesses deterioration in pressure systems and provides recommendations.
- Reviews design calculations and sentences defects in line with industry standards.
Job Qualifications:
- HNC/Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- UKAS RG21 CAT 2 Certificate (required).
- Minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience, including at least 1 year in in-service inspection of pressure systems.
- Incorporated Engineer status (desirable).
