Position Summary:-

Acuren is seeking an Infrared Technician to perform infrared thermographic inspections and nondestructive testing activities at commercial and industrial job sites. The technician is responsible for setting up and calibrating NDT equipment, conducting inspections, analyzing thermal images, evaluating results, and preparing detailed inspection reports.

The role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to represent Acuren professionally as a primary customer contact. The position is primarily based in the Houston surrounding area, with regular travel required.

Responsibilities:-

  • Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment.
  • Conduct NDT inspections to ensure quality or detect discontinuities and defects.
  • Establish appropriate examination techniques while maintaining strict adherence to safety regulations.
  • Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications and standards.
  • Evaluate and organize test results.
  • Perform specialized inspections.
  • Perform infrared thermographic inspections of fired equipment, electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and/or roofing at commercial and industrial job sites.
  • Analyze thermal images to identify anomalies or potential failures.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports using company templates.
  • Clearly document inspection findings and communicate results to fellow team members and clients.
  • Represent the company professionally on-site as the primary customer contact.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and customer personnel to ensure clarity and accuracy of inspection results.
  • Complete reporting duties in a timely manner.
  • May instruct and supervise others.
  • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:-

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Some college preferred.
  • Certified Level II.
  • Technical background in NDT methods and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform assigned NDT tasks effectively and interpret inspection results.
  • Knowledge of NDT equipment.
  • Experience in report writing.
  • Thermography certification from an accredited institution.
  • Level II certification with refinery experience preferred.
  • Seasoned Level I technicians who can achieve Level II certification within three months may also be considered.
  • Excellent communication skills with individuals at all levels.
  • Solid computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and FLIR Software.
  • Strong time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Clean driving record.
  • TWIC.

Requirements:-

  • Ability to perform infrared thermographic inspections and analyze thermal images.
  • Ability to prepare and complete detailed inspection reports within required timelines.
  • Ability to communicate inspection results effectively to internal teams and clients.
  • Ability to represent the company professionally at customer sites.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly, primarily in the Houston surrounding area.
  • Ability to work at commercial and industrial job sites.
  • Ability to comply with applicable safety regulations and inspection standards.
