Position Summary:

The Field Technician role at NDT Global is focused on acquiring practical techniques for the preparation of the company's robots and ensuring the safe execution of on-site activities related to loading, launching, receiving, and retrieving the inspection robots.

Responsibilities:

Inspection Robot Management:

  • Prepare and verify inspection robots, including assembly, configuration, and confirmation to a defined build state.
  • Perform maintenance work on inspection robots during routine servicing.
  • Carry out replacement work on inspection robots for refurbishment purposes.

On-Site Support:

  • Assist in the execution of inspection robot launch, run, and receive processes.
  • Ensure proper handling of the robot during setup, loading, launching, and retrieving.
  • Coordinate the movement of Above Ground Markers (AGM) and track the robot.

Documentation and Communication:

  • Complete required field documentation for inspection projects.
  • Conduct daily risk assessments in line with HSEQ standards.
  • Report any potential problems, issues, or concerns to the supervisor promptly.

Customer Service:

  • Deliver an exceptional customer service experience to both internal and external customers.

Education:

  • A two-year degree, diploma, or technical vocational training as an Engineer Technician in Mechatronic, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • A full driver's license is necessary.
  • Knowledge of general shop safety and robot safety procedures.
  • Aptitude for learning new technologies and concepts.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of corresponding work experience, preferably in the oil and gas sector.
  • Background in In-line Inspection (ILI) or Ultrasonic (UT) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of mechanical and/or electrical tools and test equipment.
  • Knowledge of technical drawings and tool configurations.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English.
