Position Summary:

Acuren is seeking an experienced Eddy Current Analyst to join its Baton Rouge operations. The successful candidate will perform advanced NDT inspections, evaluate test results, develop inspection techniques, and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements. This position requires strong technical expertise, analytical ability, and a proactive approach to quality and safety in asset integrity management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct non-destructive tests to identify discontinuities or defects using approved NDT methods.
  • Develop and implement proper examination techniques while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.
  • Apply and interpret testing criteria in accordance with applicable standards and evaluate inspection results.
  • Review and analyze asset documentation, inspection data, and operational information related to NDE activities.
  • Prepare detailed project reports including inspection methodologies, findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Perform specialized inspections and integrity assessments, including physical site walkdowns as required.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks; escalate issues when necessary to maintain quality and schedule compliance.
  • Interface directly with clients regarding inspection scheduling, progress updates, and technical problem-solving.
  • Ensure calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment.
  • Provide guidance, supervision, or instruction to junior NDT personnel as needed.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of ASME, API, and other relevant industry codes and standards.
  • Comply with company and client health, safety, and environmental policies at all times.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; some college or technical education preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years of NDT experience, with demonstrated expertise in applicable methods (e.g., ET, UT, UTPA, PAUT, CR, DR).
  • Current NDT certifications in relevant methods (ASNT/CGSB/ISO 9712 or equivalent).
  • Strong background in NDT procedures and inspection reporting.
  • Supervisory or lead experience considered an asset.
  • Excellent technical interpretation and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in computer-based reporting and inspection software.
  • Strong communication and client interfacing abilities.

Working Conditions:

  • Work performed primarily in outdoor industrial environments.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions and moderate physical demands.
  • Frequent lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs; regular standing, walking, climbing, and kneeling required.
  • Occasional travel to job sites as needed.
