Position Summary:
The Deputy Operations Manager – IS is responsible for leading and delivering industrial services including third-party inspections, in-service inspections, and QA/QC activities. The role supports the Technical Manager in executing departmental strategies, managing resources, and ensuring operational efficiency. The position also involves conducting inspection, testing, and certification activities in accordance with applicable standards, statutory requirements, and company procedures, while contributing to business development and technical growth initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver industrial services covering third-party inspections, in-service inspections, and QA/QC activities.
- Manage resources and ensure optimal utilization of personnel.
- Support the Technical Manager in developing and implementing departmental strategic plans and policies.
- Provide leadership and direction to technical staff.
- Perform inspection, testing, and certification activities including welding, painting, and NDT inspections in accordance with company procedures, statutory requirements, standards, and codes of practice.
- Lead the development of conventional and advanced NDT services, including inspection and consultancy activities.
- Support the bidding process and preparation of technical and commercial proposals in collaboration with tender and sales teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 8–15 years of experience in a similar role.
- NDT Level III certification.
- Welding certification such as CSWIP or IWE.
- Painting certification such as BGAS or NACE.
- ISO 9001 QMS Auditor certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders and managing operations.
- Strong customer service, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in managing administrative tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt and respond effectively in a dynamic business environment.
