Position Summary

The Calibration Technician plays a vital role in supporting both in-house and external calibration needs at American Testing Services. This role is responsible for the calibration, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of a broad range of equipment used in non-destructive testing (NDT) applications. Working from the company’s Miamisburg, Ohio headquarters, the technician ensures the accuracy and precision of measurement tools used across lab and field operations.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Conduct testing on equipment and instruments to verify readings and outputs align with expected standards.
  • Perform installation of new or repaired equipment or components.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures and technical protocols during equipment servicing.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, responding to inquiries and providing updates on equipment status.
  • Prepare detailed calibration reports and certificates for internal and external customers.
  • Travel to customer sites to perform on-location calibration and repair services.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Background in electrical or electronics disciplines is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in equipment maintenance or a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Essential Qualifications / Physical Demands / Work Environment

  • Must be able to read and interpret technical documents, safety rules, and procedural manuals.
  • Able to write clear, routine reports and communicate professionally with clients and team members.
  • Capable of analyzing complex data and solving technical issues using abstract and concrete reasoning.
  • Physically able to lift over 75 pounds, crouch, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces.
  • Frequently exposed to risks including electrical shock, vibration, fumes, and mechanical parts.
  • Occasional exposure to wet conditions and radiation risks.
  • Work environment is typically quiet but may vary based on field conditions.
