NDT - AUT Level III Inspector

Position Summary

TÜV SÜD is currently seeking an experienced AUT Level III Inspector to support inspection activities related to the approval and validation of Automated Ultrasonic Testing (AUT) procedures. The role involves reviewing, witnessing, and approving all aspects of AUT procedure qualification submitted by PETROJET, the pipeline subcontractor, on behalf of a Joint Venture (JV) client. The inspector will be engaged in both on-site and desk-based review activities and will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with project and international NDT standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and approve AUT procedures submitted by the pipeline subcontractor (PETROJET).
• Review and validate calibration blocks and demonstration blocks proposed for qualification.
• Witness scanning and demonstrations conducted on calibration and mock-up blocks at subcontractor facilities in Habshan, Abu Dhabi.
• Review and approve the final validation report prepared by the subcontractor.
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) to support the JV team in technical decision-making related to AUT and associated techniques.

Required Certifications

• AUT Level III Certification (Automated Ultrasonic Testing – mandatory)
• TOFD Level III Certification (Time of Flight Diffraction)
• PAUT Level III Certification (Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing)

Key Skills

• Extensive experience in AUT inspection and procedure validation
• In-depth knowledge of NDT Level III standards and practices
• Familiarity with pipeline inspection protocols and demonstration block evaluation
• Strong documentation and procedural review skills
• Effective communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
