Associate Test Technician

Position Summary

Element Materials Technology is seeking an Associate Test Technician to support metallurgy operations by conducting a variety of mechanical, metallurgical, failure, and corrosion tests. Based in a laboratory or on-site, the technician will perform sample preparation, hardness testing, and metallurgical evaluations while ensuring all work meets ISO 17025 compliance. This role requires a hands-on, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative team environment and is committed to producing high-quality technical results.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform metallurgical testing, including hardness testing, micro/macro examinations, and metallographic sample preparation
• Participate in on-site or field testing assignments as needed
• Prepare accurate and professional technical reports based on testing outcomes
• Ensure all activities comply with ISO 17025 quality standards
• Collaborate with internal technicians to follow testing schedules and operational plans

Minimum Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Metallurgy or a related discipline
• 2–4 years of laboratory experience in metallurgical testing
• Strong understanding of international standards and testing codes
• Proficiency in report writing and documentation
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident only)
