Assistant Technician

Position Summary

Mistras Group is seeking motivated individuals to join as Assistant Technicians and begin their careers in industrial radiography and non-destructive testing (NDT). This entry-level role supports certified technicians in field and shop environments, conducting NDT inspections across various sectors including power generation, petrochemical refining, aerospace, fabrication, and pipelines. The position offers hands-on training and exposure to cutting-edge asset protection solutions in a dynamic and growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Assists certified radiographers and NDT technicians in performing field and shop inspections.
• Supports various NDT methods, including radiography, under direct supervision.
• Follows all safety protocols and company procedures during inspections.
• Communicates effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients.
• Prepares and maintains tools, equipment, and documentation for job assignments.
• Adapts to changing schedules and job demands, including short-notice and overnight travel.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Completion of a 40-hour Radiation Safety Course (required).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required).
• Ability to interpret technical instructions and follow precise procedures.
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.
• Willingness to travel out of town periodically.

Essential Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 55 pounds.
• Physically capable of working in industrial environments, including confined spaces and elevated platforms.
