Position Summary:

The ASME Authorized Inspector is responsible for performing inspections of boilers, pressure vessels, piping systems, and welding activities in accordance with the ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel (BPV) Code, National Board requirements, and applicable jurisdictional regulations. The role involves conducting shop and field inspections, witnessing examinations and tests, verifying compliance with code requirements, and ensuring quality and traceability throughout fabrication and assembly processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct shop and field inspections during fabrication and assembly activities.
  • Witness hydrostatic testing, pneumatic testing, and non-destructive examinations (NDE).
  • Maintain the ASME Inspector Diary and verify material traceability records.
  • Review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQRs), and welder/operator qualifications.
  • Document non-conformities and ensure corrective actions are implemented and completed.
  • Confirm compliance with applicable ASME Code requirements prior to U-stamp and nameplate application.
  • Attend joint reviews with Certificate Holders and Authorized Inspector (AI) Supervisors.
  • Ensure inspections are performed in accordance with ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code requirements and applicable regulations.

Qualifications:

  • ASME Authorized Inspector (AI) Commission or National Board eligibility.
  • Strong knowledge of ASME Section I, Section VIII, and Section IX requirements.
  • Familiarity with Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) methods including:
  • Radiographic Testing (RT)
  • Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
  • Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)
  • Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)

Requirements:

Experience:

  • 3–5 years of experience in pressure equipment inspection.
  • Minimum 4 years of work experience in equipment testing.
  • Minimum 4 years of work experience with ASME standards.

  • Pune

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel to shop and field locations as required.
