Position Summary:
Applus+ Europe is seeking an Aviation NDT Technician (Level 2) based in Luton, UK. The position carries out day-to-day non-destructive inspections on aircraft and aviation components in-house and at customer facilities globally, assuring structural integrity under strict CAA, EASA, FAA, and OEM standards.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Level 2 NDT inspections on aircraft and aeronautical components per work instructions, OEM data, and client purchase orders.
- Conduct contract reviews prior to executing work orders and maintain full compliance with HSEQ protocols.
- Issue official release documentation (e.g., Form 1 release for EASA/CAA/FAA and Applus NDT test reports).
- Manage, calibrate, control, and maintain NDT equipment and testing instruments.
- Complete detailed job packs, technical records, time logs, and invoicing support documentation upon task completion.
- Support domestic and overseas customer field service requests, participating in night shift and weekend on-call rotations as scheduled.
- Proactively identify and report safety hazards, fatigue issues, or information security vulnerabilities using company systems.
Qualifications Requirements:
- EN4179 / NAS410 Level 2 certification in at least one primary method: Eddy Current (ET), Ultrasonic (UT), or Radiography (RT).
- Minimum of 12 months practical experience in NDT maintenance as a certified Level 2.
- Solid understanding of FOD, product safety, CFSI (Counterfeit, Fraudulent, Suspect Items), and fraud prevention principles.
- Fluent in written and spoken English with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability and willingness to travel overseas for site support.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of aeronautical maintenance experience within a Part 145 organization.
- Additional certifications in ET, UT, RT, PT, MT, or Thermography under EN4179/NAS410.
- Knowledge of NADCAP, ISO 9001, and AS 9100 quality management standards.
- Current training in Human Factors, Safety Management Systems (SMS), Fuel Tank Safety, and Aviation Legislation.
