Position Summary:
The NDT Advanced Services API Inspector is responsible for performing inspections on designated equipment in accordance with API standards. This includes recommending and approving repairs or certifying compliance to maintain mechanical integrity and safety.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to company, customer, and legal safety standards.
- Perform internal and external inspections on fixed equipment at scheduled intervals.
- Recommend and approve repairs and visually inspect completed repair work.
- Assist in scheduling inspection activities.
- Prepare detailed inspection and turnaround reports, maintaining accurate documentation.
- Identify and follow proper safety procedures and equipment usage.
- Communicate professionally with customers and other parties at plant or job sites.
- Complete all required training and testing per company guidelines.
- File customer and company job-related forms and paperwork.
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Technical school or related training preferred.
- Previous industry-related experience preferred.
- Valid API certification required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Willingness to travel 0% – 50%.
Work Conditions:
- Based at a branch or site location.
- Field duties may require indoor and outdoor work in plant environments.
- Work around production machinery with high noise levels.
- Ability to wear safety equipment as required.
- May work at multiple job sites in one day and in varying climates.
- Possible periodic out-of-town travel.
- Must be capable of climbing, working at high elevations, and in confined spaces.
Physical & Mental Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to walk and climb as needed for field duties.
- Clear communication skills (verbal and written).
- Adequate vision, hearing, and manual dexterity to perform inspections.
- Physical mobility to navigate refinery or plant environments, including ladders and stairwells.
- Ability to focus, multitask, and solve problems effectively.
