Position Summary:

The NDT Advanced Services API Inspector is responsible for performing scheduled and on-demand inspections on fixed equipment in accordance with applicable API standards. This role involves evaluating the condition of mechanical systems, recommending or approving repairs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and preparing detailed reports. The inspector plays a vital role in supporting plant integrity, reliability, and safety, while fostering professional relationships with clients and maintaining TEAM Industrial Services' reputation for technical excellence and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform internal and external inspections on fixed equipment to assess mechanical integrity and ensure compliance with API standards.
  • Recommend and approve repairs, and visually inspect completed repair work for quality assurance.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and compliant work environment by adhering to company, client, and legal safety practices.
  • Assist with the scheduling and coordination of inspection activities.
  • Generate and maintain accurate inspection records, turnaround reports, and documentation related to inspection outcomes.
  • Identify situations that require enhanced safety measures and ensure appropriate procedures and PPE are followed.
  • Engage directly with customers and on-site personnel to communicate inspection processes and findings in a professional manner.
  • Complete all required training and certifications as outlined by the company.
  • Perform administrative duties such as organizing and filing job-related forms and documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Technical school education or relevant training strongly preferred.
  • Prior industry-related experience is an advantage.
  • Must hold a valid API certification.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license is required.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time as needed.

Work Conditions:

  • Position is based at a branch or client site location.
  • Work involves both indoor and outdoor activities within a plant or refinery environment.
  • Exposure to high noise levels and industrial conditions.
  • Must be able to wear safety equipment as required.
  • May be required to work across multiple job sites in a single day and tolerate varying weather conditions.
  • Must be capable of working at heights and in confined spaces.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be physically able to walk, climb ladders and stairs, and access elevated platforms.
  • Clear communication abilities, both verbal and written, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Strong observational skills and manual dexterity to perform field inspections.
  • Ability to multitask, maintain focus under pressure, and handle job-related travel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working within teams and with clients.
