Position Summary:

Applus is seeking a highly qualified AICIP or API 510/570 Inspector with at least 5 years of experience, ideally within LNG facilities. The successful candidate will also possess NDT qualifications in Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Radiographic Testing (RT), with extensive experience in these areas. Additional qualifications in Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) and Penetrant Testing (PT) are highly desirable. This is a full-time position based at a client facility in Gladstone.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct statutory inspections of pressure vessels and piping, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and client policies.
  • Provide detailed reports in a timely manner based on inspection findings.
  • Collaborate with the residential inspection department to ensure seamless operations.
  • Offer feedback and assistance to the engineering department on inspection-related matters.
  • Liaise with other site representatives to coordinate maintenance and repair activities.
  • Conduct audits and reviews to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) using UT and RT methods.
  • Supervise and liaise with NDT personnel to ensure accurate and efficient testing processes.
  • Provide input into shutdown planning activities.
  • Calibrate inspection equipment as required.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and work with the client to implement suggestions.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • AICIP In-Service Pressure Vessel Inspection certification or API 510 and API 570 certifications (essential).
  • UT Level 2 Certification (essential).
  • RT Level 2 Certification (essential).
  • Additional NDT qualifications in MT and PT (highly desirable).
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably within LNG facilities.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience with applicable inspection standards and statutory regulations.
  • Strong understanding of failure mechanisms and the NDT methods required for investigation, including both basic and advanced techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and liaison skills.
  • Must be based in Gladstone or willing to relocate.
