Position Summary

The Aerospace NDT Technician will be responsible for performing day-to-day inspections using both NDT and welding inspection methods, ensuring all work meets client and regulatory standards. The role involves maintaining effective communication with project management, ensuring compliance with company procedures, and contributing to the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of inspection activities.

This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge aerospace inspection projects within a technically advanced and safety-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform NDT and welding inspections (conventional and advanced techniques) in accordance with client requirements and industry standards.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Site Manager and/or General Manager on job progress and status.
  • Ensure all inspections are carried out safely, efficiently, and within budget.
  • Complete accurate timesheets and maintain all required documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company, client, and legislative requirements related to NDT activities.
  • Verify calibration validity and functionality of all equipment and consumables prior to use.
  • Prepare and submit detailed inspection reports in accordance with Applus+ reporting procedures.
  • Support and mentor less experienced team members to promote continuous development.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of personal qualifications and certifications.
  • Adhere to the Inspector Declaration Form to ensure independence, impartiality, and integrity.
  • Comply with the Letter of Authorisation Acknowledgement and adhere to authorisation limits.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by line management.

Essential Qualifications

  • EN4179 / NAS 410 Level 2 certification in Dye Penetrant (DPI) or Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI).
  • Documentary evidence of completed training and minimum required on-the-job experience in accordance with EN4179 standards.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Applus+ UK services, systems, and operational procedures.
  • Additional NDT or inspection certifications (e.g. UT, ET, or RT) considered advantageous.
