Position Summary:
TEAM, Inc. is seeking an Advanced Services Inspector to perform specialized non-destructive examinations using advanced inspection methods and techniques. The role is intended for experienced professionals with strong technical expertise across multiple inspection modalities. Working within TEAM’s Advanced NDE group, the inspector will lead inspection activities, analyze complex inspection data, interact directly with clients, and serve as a subject matter expert while supporting asset reliability, operational safety, and inspection quality.
The Advanced Services Inspector is expected to perform technical inspections with a high level of accuracy, professionalism, and safety while utilizing advanced inspection technologies. Preferred certifications include API 510, API 570, API 653, CWI, AMPP, CR/DR, AUT PA-UT, and UTSW.
Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced NDE inspections in accordance with TEAM procedures, client specifications, and applicable industry codes, including ASME, API, and AWS.
- Operate, configure, and maintain advanced inspection equipment and scanning systems.
- Collect, interpret, and analyze complex inspection data and prepare detailed reports with recommendations.
- Interface directly with clients and engineers to communicate inspection findings and ensure critical project objectives are achieved.
- Maintain proficiency in data acquisition software and digital reporting platforms.
- Supervise and mentor junior technicians and assistants during advanced inspection activities.
- Contribute to project planning, scan plan development, inspection procedures, and technique qualification reviews as required.
- Adhere to TEAM’s Life Critical Expectations and all site-specific safety protocols.
- Uphold industry standards and TEAM’s commitment to professionalism, integrity, and quality.
Qualifications:
- Education
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Multiple Conventional NDT Level II or Level III certifications or ASNT, PCN, or CGSB equivalencies.
- Advanced certifications such as API 510, API 570, API 653, CWI, or AMPP.
- Radiation Safety Training, IRRSP certification, or State Industrial Radiographer Card (where applicable to Radiographic Testing).
- Experience working in refineries, petrochemical facilities, pipeline projects, or fabrication shops.
- Current TWIC, OSHA 10/30, or other industry-standard safety certifications.
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate inspection findings effectively with peers, clients, and supervisors.
- Strong work ethic with a safety-first mindset.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle driving record.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background screenings.
- Ability to obtain TWIC, DISA, and other required site access credentials.
- Ability to provide documentation supporting one or more TEAM Level II qualifications or certifications in accordance with TEAM’s written practice and certification requirements.
- Ability to travel frequently and work extended hours in field environments, including confined spaces, elevated work areas, and extreme weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in refinery, plant, shop, and client site environments, both indoors and outdoors.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment for assigned tasks.
- Willingness to work weekends, extended shifts, alternative schedules, and travel out of town as required.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and under varying environmental conditions.
- Strong mobility, manual dexterity, communication ability, vision, and multitasking capability necessary to perform inspection duties safely and effectively.
