Position Summary

Bureau Veritas is seeking an Advanced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician to join its Saint-Nazaire (44) team. Reporting to the Operational Manager, the technician will deliver high-value-added inspection, appraisal, and technical assistance services using both advanced and conventional NDT techniques. The role involves working across various sectors, including manufacturing, aeronautics, naval, petrochemical, energy, wind, and nuclear industries, ensuring compliance with client-specific regulatory and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serves as a technical specialist in advanced NDT services for SME/SMI clients and major industrial accounts.
  • Performs inspections and expert appraisals on operational or manufacturing equipment and installations.
  • Applies ultrasonic testing methods and, ideally, advanced UT techniques such as UTPA, TOFD, and TFM.
  • Ensures all work complies with safety regulations and applicable codes or standards.
  • Provides technical advice and problem-solving support to clients in the field.
  • Develops and maintains customer relationships by delivering technical support, promoting services, and reporting client needs to the sales team.
  • Prepares and submits accurate inspection reports, expert assessments, and certificates of conformity.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Holds a Bac +2 degree in mechanics, metallurgy, physical measurements, or materials science.
  • Brings a minimum of 5 years’ experience in NDT applied to manufacturing, maintenance, or equipment monitoring.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in ultrasonic testing (UT), with a preference for candidates holding COFREND ISO 9712 certifications, including UT2 CIFM.
  • Experience with advanced UT methods (UTPA, TOFD, TFM) is highly desirable.
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust-based relationships.
  • Must have a valid Category B driver’s license and be open to frequent regional travel and occasional assignments across France.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Fixed salary ranging from €30,000 to €40,000, based on experience.
