Position Summary:
Acuren is seeking an experienced Industrial CR/DR Technician (Level I or II RT) to join its asset protection team in Torrance, CA. The role involves operating Computed Radiography (CR) and Digital Radiography (DR) systems to evaluate structural components, welds, castings, and pipelines across manufacturing, aerospace, and energy sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Operate CR and DR imaging equipment to perform non-destructive testing on industrial components.
- Set up, position, and calibrate digital radiography instruments to ensure accurate flaw detection.
- Interpret and evaluate digital radiographic images to identify cracks, discontinuities, and defects in accordance with ASME, API, and AWS standards.
- Perform system maintenance, troubleshoot imaging hardware/software, and document system calibrations.
- Comply strictly with radiation safety regulations, monitoring protocols, PPE requirements, and site hazard controls.
- Compile, organize, and generate clear technical inspection reports for quality assurance teams and clients.
Qualifications Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or technical certification in NDT/Radiographic Technology preferred).
- Level I or Level II Certification in Radiographic Testing (RT) per ASNT, NAS-410, or equivalent standards.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in industrial CR/DR or NDT inspection.
- Valid Driver’s License and willingness to travel as required.
- Physical ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs and work at heights, in confined spaces, or outdoor environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- IRATA or SPRAT Rope Access Certification (any level).
- Experience with automated CR/DR equipment, phased array, or advanced NDT methods.
- Familiarity with industrial quality management systems and technical drawing interpretation.
