AIM, founded in January 1946, is a non-profit cultural organization dedicated to thedissemination of the science and technology of metallic materials and other engineering materials. The evolution of traditional materials, the development of advanced materials, and production techniques and technologies require constant and effective training from those who study and work with materials.

The association's purpose is to foster, through its activities, the exchange of ideas and experiences among all those interested in developing and deepeningknowledge in the field of metallic materials, with particular emphasis on promoting meetings between producers, users, and researchers.
