NDT in Canada 2026

The Canadian Institute for Non-Destructive Evaluation (CINDE) is a not-for-profit, member-based professional society dedicated to advancing non-destructive testing (NDT), non-destructive evaluation (NDE), and inspection throughout Canada and internationally. Established in 2001 from the amalgamation of the Canadian Society for Nondestructive Testing and the NDE Institute of Canada, CINDE serves as a national technical organization supporting individuals and companies involved in the inspection and evaluation industry. 

CINDE’s core mission includes improving the quality of education and training in NDT, promoting the development and adoption of new inspection techniques, and helping Canadian industry apply NDE methods effectively. It provides a wide range of training programs, certification examinations, member services, professional resources, and technical events designed to enhance competency and professional growth for NDT practitioners. The institute’s facilities include approved examination centres for government-recognized certification standards, and training is conducted by accredited instructors with diverse industrial experience. 

As an industry hub, CINDE organizes conferences, seminars, chapter events, and international gatherings such as the NDT in Canada conference, which promote networking, knowledge exchange, and collaboration across the global NDT community. It also publishes technical information and provides employment resources, contributing to workforce development and the broader advancement of NDT practice.
