About Society for Nondestructive Testing & Certification of Taiwan (SNTCT)

The Society for Nondestructive Testing & Certification of Taiwan (SNTCT) was established in 1979. SNTCT is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the government in promoting economic development, accelerating industrial upgrading, establishing sound Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) systems, and advancing NDT technology. To fulfill these goals, SNTCT undertakes public-interest activities including (1) the promotion, training, and service of NDT knowledge, skills, and applications; (2) the establishment and implementation of certification systems for NDT personnel; (3) the development of NDT codes, standards, and related systems; (4) the publication of NDT books, journals, and technical materials, as well as the provision of related equipment; (5) the research and development of NDT science and technology; (6) the promotion of domestic and international academic and technical exchange in NDT; and (7) other necessary activities related to its mission.

SNTCT began implementing and promoting its application for ISO 17024:2012 in 2012 and obtained accreditation from the Taiwan Accreditation Foundation (TAF) in 2017, which has been continuously maintained through 2026. In addition, in 2018, SNTCT applied to the International Committee for Non-Destructive Testing (ICNDT) and was admitted to the Multilateral Recognition Agreement (MRA) under Schedule 2. In 2024, this recognition was renewed through 2027, covering both ISO 9712:2021 and ISO/IEC 17024:2012.
