Our level I/II course is meticulously designed to meet the rigorous syllabus requirements of ASNT-CP-189, SNT-TC-1A, NAS 410, BS EN 4179, and PCN, making it an ideal choice for engineering inspectors at all experience levels.

Course Highlights:

Theory and Practical: This comprehensive 80-hour (10-day) training program offers a well-balanced curriculum, dedicating 50% of the course to theory and 50% to hands-on practical application. You'll gain both a deep understanding of the subject and valuable practical experience.

Supervised Learning: Practice a wide variety of inspection techniques under the expert guidance of qualified instructors, using the latest ECI equipment.

Course Content:

Our course covers a wide range of topics, including:

  • Basic principles of electricity.
  • Generation of eddy currents and electromagnetic induction.
  • Variables affecting eddy currents.
  • Different types of ECI equipment, including high and low-frequency devices.
  • Calibration blocks and their types.
  • Various probes, coils, and coil arrangements.
  • Practical applications of eddy current testing.
  • AC theory, including applications of Ohm's Law to simple and complex circuits.
  • Study of basic eddy current test circuits and vector diagrams.
  • Theory of impedance plane analysis.
  • Practical applications of phase analysis.
  • Interpretation of relevant and non-relevant indications.
  • Preparation of inspection techniques and report writing procedures, with a focus on interpreting specifications accurately.

Assessment:

Throughout the course, students undergo continuous assessment, including homework assignments, progress tests, and both theoretical and practical end-of-course examinations.

Certification Options:

Upon successful completion of the course, students have the opportunity to take approval examinations in Eddy Current Inspection at Level I, II, or Level III. These examinations align with industry standards such as SNT-TC-1A, NAS 410, or BS EN 4179, following their respective company's written practice.

Level III Services:

Additionally, The International School of Aerospace NDT offers Level III services as defined in the industry documents mentioned above. We serve as an external agency, providing expert inspection services for aerospace applications.
