Technology and Quality Control Centre (TQCC) was established in January 1999 in Central Greece (city of Volos) by M.K. Kotouzas, with the support of Lavender International NDT UK.

Lavender International NDT UK was founded in 1976 and is one of the official certification agencies of Great Britain, focusing on training and certification of companies and individuals in Non-Destructive Testing methods worldwide, providing Level 3 training and certification for various industrial sectors.

Our main area of business in Non Destructive Testing - Training and Certification to Level I, II and III.

The methods we teach are:

The courses are accredited by The British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT) and the Hellenic Society for Non-Destructive Testing (HSNT).

The British Institute of NDT (BINDT) was founded in 1954. Several reports indicate that the first time that NDT methods were used was during the First World War, mainly in the military air force. This led to the creation of the pioneering certification center of BINDT in 1954.

The Hellenic Society for Non-Destructive Testing (H.S.N.T.) is a member of E.F.N.D.T. (European Federation of NDT-1998) as well as a member of I.C.N.D.T. (International Committee of NDT-1989). The H.S.N.T. is recognized internationally as the national certification agency for NDT of Greece.

The examination certificates in accordance with ASNT/SNT-TC-1A are issued by Lavender International NDT Ltd.

The certification in accordance with EN473/ISO 9712 is offered by The British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT/PCN) or the Hellenic Society for Non-Destructive Testing (HSNT).

Training methods

NDT are based on the principles of Physics and examine the surface and the interior of pieces and constructions without harming their serviceability. The equipment and the consumables required can be easily transported and have low to medium cost.

Indications like the accumulation of magnetic particles (MT), the bleed out of penetrant (PT), the returning ultrasound signal (UT) and the disturbance of electric fields, inform us about the nature and the severity of the findings.

Training, experience and knowledge of the part under testing, contribute decisively to the outcome and reliability of the inspection.

Next we shall present the basic Non Destructive Testing methods, with emphasis to the applications, the advantages and the limitations of each method (radiography, penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing, eddy current testing and ultrasonic testing).
