LIN SCAN supplies cleaning tools, and pig traps (launchers & receivers) and provides specialised pipeline cleaning services. LIN SCAN has its corporate office established in Dubai and its subsidiaries in other countries worldwide including Europe, Africa, North America, CIS, Middle East and Asia.

LIN SCAN’s Research and Development (R&D) and Manufacturing division are known for innovative cleaning and inspection solutions for all pipeline diameters from 2 to 56 inches with a variety of inspection technologies for all industries.

LIN SCAN detect, defines, locates and sizes all anomalies reliably and accurately; including cracks. Our software programs identify integrity-threatening anomalies. They can predict when not dangerous, anomalies become threatening.

In-line Inspection Services

LIN SCAN owns a large fleet of inspection tools developed based on the following technologies:
Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) – used for detection and sizing of general corrosion and other metal loss anomalies especially circumferentially oriented. MFL tools have limited capability of detection and sizing of girth weld anomalies.

Transverse Field Inspection (TFI) Technology – used for detection and sizing of general corrosion and other metal loss anomalies, primarily axially oriented such as tunnel corrosion, longitudinal weld anomalies. TFI tools have limited capability of detection and sizing of crack-like anomalies.

Ultrasound (UT) Technology – used for detection and sizing of general and other metal loss anomalies with the highest depth sizing accuracy available industry. UT tools are capable of detecting the mid-wall features such as laminations.

Ultrasonic Crack Detection Technology – used for detection and sizing of cracks and colonies of cracks

Caliper (Geometry) Technology – used for detection and sizing of any deviation of the ideal circular shape of a pipeline (dents, ovalities, wrinkles etc.)

These technologies can be used in various combinations on “Combo Tools” using more than one measurement system.

Pipelines are statically the safest means of transport for moving large quantities of gas and liquids over long distances. The natural deterioration curve is flat, and pipelines serve for many years.

However; when the pipe wall is locally damaged or/and corrosion sets in; the deterioration accelerates to a fast-declining curve, threatening the pipeline integrity.

    Pipeline Repair & Rehabilitation

    LIN SCAN provides integrity maintenance of oil and gas pipelines and a full range of pipeline repair and modification services for offshore or onshore pipelines.

    Our services respond to every world standard and client’s needs. We can do fast-responding repair and maintenance services for every health and environmental requirement.

    Repair and maintenance services can be a wise approach in case of pipeline emergencies. By using our services, we can prolong the pipeline’s lifetime and significantly reduce repair time without stopping pipeline operations. It is inevitably significant for the client’s convenience to increase pipeline functionality, taking into account the growth of the oil and gas pipeline grid.

    Quick Repairs

    LIN SCAN has developed expertise in pipeline repair using carbon fibre technology. It has the resources to carry out the field repairs and reinforce pipe wall strength. This technique ensures keeping MAOP as designed even if the actual pipe wall metal loss reaches 80% of the wall thickness.

    Before field application, we carry out the necessary calculations and computer simulations using sophisticated software tools to ensure the reliability of the repair.

    Our pipeline repair activities aim at minimum shutdown requirements as well as minimum surface preparation for cost-effectiveness. We can provide certification and training of application technicians upon client request.

    Repair Programs

    LIN SCAN provides short and long-term repair strategies to maintain and improve the lifetime of the pipeline economically. We assess the inspection data to identify permanent and temporary repair areas in compliance with the most stringent standards and recommended practices.
