Optical imaging using thermal cameras for gas thermal imaging offers a number of benefits compared to traditional “sniffers” because they scan a broader area much more rapidly and in areas that are difficult to reach with contact measurement tools. Infrared displays a leak as a plume of vapor in the infrared image. Once a leak is found, from a safe distance, you can use your TVA to quantify the concentration.

Void Scanner laser surveying system for void mapping and stope mapping.

Non Destructive Testing (NDT) is a form of inspection which allows parts and material to be inspected and measured without significantly damaging them.

NDT is a very broad, interdisciplinary field that plays an important role in ensuring that structural components and systems perform their function in a reliable and cost effective way. This type of inspection does not alter the item being inspected.

Technicians and engineers use non destructive testing to define and implement tests that locate and characterise material conditions and flaws that might otherwise cause significant problems. These tests are performed in a manner that does not affect the future usefulness of the object or material.

We offer a wide variety of NDT equipment, ensuring our customers choose the most appropriate instrumentation and package for their application. Our wide range of instrumentation includes products from leading manufacturers such as Olympus and Proceq. The technology various from concrete testing, metal hardness, UT, CP and metal thickness testing.

Hardness testers are ideal for testing aluminium, aluminium alloys, copper, brass and other materials. The portable and accurate technology make these instruments perfect for on-site inspections with challenging access points.

We have multiple options and models of hardness testers available from manufacturer such as Proceq. We have a large rental inventory of the most advanced thickness gauges, these instruments determine an accurate thickness of a subject to identify internal erosion, corrosion, flaws or wall thickness anomalies, often without the need to remove surface coatings. Pulsed Eddy Current Testing (PECT) has been developed to detect corrosion hidden under insulation.

Previous instruments often lacked the power to be fast and effective. Using the latest battery technology, MAXWELL NDT products introduces a novel and very powerful PECT instrument. Its design is based on 20 years’ hands-on experience.

Inspectahire are approved as FLIR ‘s ITC training providers for Optical Gas Imaging (OGI)

Using the latest technology from FLIR Sweden Inspectahire provide quality training in OGI with the use of the FLIR GF Camera systems.

Our Instructors are all ITC approved and have a minimum of 10 years working in the Offshore / Oil & Gas environment and have used the GF Camera systems extensively for base line surveys and LDAR programs.

ITC 01 x day Introduction to OGI (Optical Gas Imaging)

This training package is aimed at Operators and personnel who will have access and a requirement to use OGI Camera.

Over the day we will teach the student how to use a FLIR GF series OGI camera and to understand its main functions.

The course will provide a basic understanding of why some gases appear as a visible cloud in a thermal image, and other don’t, as well as onsite safety when carrying out a fugitive gas emission survey.

Optical gas imaging camera overview and safe operation, with a practicable element on live plant if possible, or our Gas Lab where we can create the types of emissions commonly found using OGI.

ITC 03 x days Professional Optical Gas Imaging

This course is the full package aimed at OIEs and Inspectors who will have full access and use of the FLIR GF Camera at work.

Over 3 days we will teach the student how to use a FLIR GF series thermal camera and to interpret the results. The course will provide an understanding of why some gases appear as a visible cloud in a thermal image and the student will learn a basic approach to reporting methods and basic onsite safety.

Optical gas imaging camera overview and operation, basic thermography, spatial resolution, basic thermal science, basic heat transfer, gas imaging fundamentals, absorption characteristics (VOCs, CO, Refrigerants, SF6) surveying methods, reporting, safety considerations, laboratory sessions.

Basic understanding and knowledge of physical sciences, technical background and or a thermography qualification.

Non ITC Accredited Courses

Inspectahire run a non accredited Familiarization to OGI course, this is a one day course on or Offshore and is tailored to the clients’ needs.

It covers basic functions of the FLIR Camera and practical use in the field.

Normally run offshore where time is critical and full days training is just not practicable, run across day & night shift when required.
