Overview
Innerspec provides Non-Destructive Testing solutions that require high-power ultrasonic instrumentation, non-contact techniques, or customized integrations. The products developed by Innerspec include both integrated and portable systems that utilize non-contact EMAT (Electro Magnetic Acoustic Transducers) and Dry-Coupled Piezoelectric transducers.
  
Innerspec Technologies in partnership with WHEMCO has developed a new roll inspection system that permits inspection of rolls of any alloy, forged and cast, with unparalleled performance and capabilities.

The Rollmate G4 incorporates a patented hybrid technique with 20 ultrasonic and magnetic sensors to detect roll defects as small as 0.1mm in depth, and perform a variety of quality and life-expectancy measurements. The modular design permits detection of surface and sub-surface defects in all orientations, core-shell disbond, bruises (soft-spots), and measure shell thickness in one single pass.

The Rollmate G4 also includes Innerspec Technologies Operating Platform (ITOP) with NDT-Web™ User-Interface. Another industry-first, NDT-Web™ permits an operator to remotely see and manipulate the equipment from any device in real time using a regular browser connected to the instrument’s IP address. In addition to a great improvement in operational flexibility, NDT-Web™ facilitates the customization of the interface without affecting the operation of the equipment.

Integrated Systems - Weld Inspection

Tailor Welded Blanks

The temate® SI-WB is the industry standard for automated inspection of laser welds in Tailor Welded Blanks. The temate SI-WB can be integrated on any line using the line conveyor, de-stacking robots or automated and manual scanners from Innerspec or other vendors.

Features

  • Non-contact EMAT technique.
  • Guided waves fill up the volume of the material and provide thru thickness inspection in one pass.
  • Detects and discriminates “planar” defects such as lack of fusion, lack of penetration, concavity or mismatch, and “point” defects such as holes and porosity.
  • Insensitive to cosmetic defects that do not affect the structural quality of the weld. No false positives, typical of vision systems.

In-Line ERW Tube Inspection

The temate® BW-LT(ERW) is an automated system for inspection of longitudinal welds in ERW tubes. The couplant-free EMAT technique permits inspection immediately after welding and reliable detection of all API defects and poor ID scarfing.

Inspection of Multi-Pass Welds

Surface Inspection on Billets and Tubes

The temate® RB-S, SB-S, T-S are designed for surface inspections of round and square billets and tubes using guided waves. The temate RB-S, SB-S, T-S can be customized to meet your unique inspection needs.

Volumetric Inspection

temate PI-NB

The temate® PI-NB is an automated ultrasonic system for volumetric inspection of metallic plates using normal beam sensors. The temate PI-NB can be customized to meet your unique inspection needs.

Features

  • Non-contact EMAT technique.
  • Detects planar defects using 0º sensors. Meets all relevant plate inspection standards, including EN10160, ASTM A435, and ASTM A578.
  • Permits inspection at very high temperatures (up to 650º) and very low (-30ºC).
  • Easy to deploy: EMATs do not need to be perpendicular to the inspected surface to give reliable data, and surface variations caused by oil, moisture, or oxidation do not diminish accuracy.
  • Consistent results: EMAT coils are integrated circuits with virtually no variation from probe to probe.
  • Scalable to meet any plate width.

PowerUT® IT-IL-NR (10-260mm)

PowerUT® IT-AM is a full immersion inspection system designed for accurate and efficient high frequency ultrasonic inspection of ferrous and non-ferrous metal samples. PowerUT IT-AM is available with low frequency for inspection of plate and long product pieces. Materials inspected include steel, aerospace aluminum, titanium and other metals.
