Automotive Material Testing
Today’s automotive industry demands high quality component designs within a very short period of time, so that it meets the toughest mechanical features and ultimate safety standards.
In addition to that, simultaneous inspection of multiple regions of interest on complex components, that are based more and more on composite materials, forces the use new optical measuring tools.
Digital Image Correlation (DIC), a full field and non-contact measuring technique, offers a cost effective, fast, and highly accurate measuring technique solving todays measuring demands in the automotive industry.
Aerospace NDT
Control surfaces, satellite solar arrays, rotor blades, nacelles, cowlings, fairings, radomes, coatings and felt-metal seals are all types of aerospace components that can be inspected using Laser Shearography NDT.
Typical defects that can be found using Laser Shearography in sandwich and honeycomb constructions include: disbonds, cracked core/s, crushed core/s, corrosion with skin-to-core disbonding and node-bond-splits. These types of defects can be inspected within seconds achieving inspection rates of multiple m2/min making it one of the best techniques for both effectiveness and efficiency.
