What is Non-Destructive Testing?
20/20 NDT Inc. is a specialized industrial radiography company. What we do is just like going to the doctor’s office for an x-ray. We x-ray your structures and pipelines out in the oil field or elsewhere to ensure you don’t have any imperfections that could cause a problem.
Our NDE, or non-destructive examination, works for many industries. Everything from the internal structure of a high-rise building to the wings on an airplane can be closely inspected without removing so much as a screw. Even the Toronto landmark, The CN Tower, has undergone this type of testing.
The Ultimate in Safety
Ensure that your structures are safe without having to stop production. Avoid progress-halting problems. Comply with regulations, and increase your efficiency. You can do all this with non-destructive testing.
Grande Prairie Magnetic Particle Testing
Are your pipelines in good repair? What about the parts you can’t see? Many stress fractures and cracks can be invisible to the naked eye, and these hidden dangers could potentially result in disaster if not detected and repaired in time. Early detection can mean the difference between having to file a major insurance claim and performing minor repairs.
Magnetic particle testing detects weak spots and damaged sections of metal without harming or staining the object, allowing you to perform repairs more effectively. Our technicians serve Grande Prairie and Western Canada area, and are extremely skilled at catching even the smallest fractures, so you can rest easy.
How Magnetic Particle Testing Works
A liquid or powder solution composed of fluorescent and ferrous materials is sprayed on the magnetized section of pipe. The ferrous materials will be attracted into the cracks, and the fluorescence will show these cracks plainly under ultraviolet light.
The Benefits of Magnetic Particle Testing
Cracked and damaged pipes can have far-reaching consequences, not to mention liability concerns. Testing for damage can benefit your company in many ways:
