The Beginnings of the NDE

In the early 20th century, the need to inspect materials and components without causing damage gave rise to the concept of NDE.
Engineers and scientists sought ways to evaluate the internal quality of materials, especially in the context of aerospace and defence applications.
Basic methods such as visual inspection and liquid penetrant testing emerged during this time, setting the groundwork for future developments.
