Level II X-Ray Technician

Position Summary:

North Star Imaging is seeking a Level 2 X-ray Technician with expertise in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) to join their team. As an NSI X-ray Technician, you will work with world-class digital radiography and CT imaging products, supporting industries in failure analysis, product development, R&D, and production. This role requires a deep technical understanding of NDT processes, X-ray principles, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with industry-leading companies to capture internal and external geometries of products using mini focus, microfocus, and MeV Digital X-ray and 3D CT imaging equipment.
• Help customers with failure analysis, product development, R&D, and production-level projects by utilizing advanced digital radiography and computed tomography techniques.
• Develop and refine DR and CT techniques for customer-supplied products, ensuring the highest quality of imaging.
• Provide direct oversight and approval of trainee and Level 1 on-the-job training (OJT) and technique approval processes.
• Create innovative sample fixturing methods to increase efficiency in the digital X-ray and CT imaging process.
• Engage with clients and potential customers, offering technical expertise, delivering comprehensive reports, and conducting professional presentations to address their needs.
• Collaborate with the sales team to quote projects and propose scanning solutions tailored to customer requirements.
• Present NSI’s imaging capabilities at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
• Travel up to 15% to customer sites, company locations, and industry events as needed.

Qualifications:

• Level 2 certification in Digital Radiography (DR) and Computed Tomography (CT), or equivalent training.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in microfocus imaging, with at least 3 years of experience overall in the NDT industry.
• Strong understanding of X-ray principles, industry standards, and NDT techniques. Proficiency with VG Software Suite for seamless data analysis and operation.
• Strong customer service skills, with the ability to understand client needs and clearly communicate inspection results and technical details.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a high-performing team.

• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities to optimize equipment performance.
