Visual Inspector Level III

Position Summary:

Acuren is currently recruiting for a Visual Inspector III with API 510/570 certification for a full-time, nested position in Keokuk, IA. The Visual Inspector will be responsible for performing visual and non-destructive examinations on static and dynamic pressure-retaining equipment in accordance with American Petroleum Institute (API) and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) standards. This role will require providing technical input to clients, preparing detailed reports, and ensuring equipment safety and compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform visual and non-destructive examination of pressure-retaining equipment in compliance with API standards (510/570) and ASME codes.
• Provide accurate, technically sound reports documenting the condition of equipment for client review.
• Offer technical recommendations for the repair, re-rate, replacement, and/or alteration of plant equipment to ensure safe operation within client-specified parameters.
• Provide technical guidance on welding, metallurgical issues, and non-destructive examination (NDE) techniques.
• Ensure full compliance with Acuren and client safety protocols and actively participate in site safety initiatives.
• Willingness to travel as needed for client projects.

Requirements:

• Certifications: API 510/570 certification required.
• Experience: 5–10 years of experience in the field, or 2+ years of experience in a petrochemical facility.
• Additional API 653 or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certifications are a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of API 510/570/653 standards and ASME codes.
• Experience working directly with petrochemical facility engineers and providing technical support.
